The Foundation funded the following projects and equipment purchases for Bonner General Health:
Portable Ultrasound Unit
Shortly after being re-established, the Foundation raised the funds to purchase a portable ultrasound unit. This equipment facilitates rapid diagnosis of a wide range of medical conditions. Funding was made possible through the generous support of our community.
New AED’s were purchased for the public areas of the hospital, along with new, state of the art defibrillators with the latest technology.
Surgical Warming Cabinets
Two warming cabinets in surgical services department were replaced. Warming cabinets are machines used to heat the irrigation and intravenous fluids that are administered to a patient in the operating room. They also heat blankets that keep patients warm before, during and after surgery. This equipment plays a critical role in patient safety during and after surgery by decreasing the risk of post-operative infections and other complications.
Emergency Department Lobby Renovation
The Foundation Board members partnered with Mountain West Bank to renovate the Emergency Department waiting area. Through the bank’s “Donate a Dollar” fundraising campaign, Mountain West raised the funds to replace the furniture and install a flat screen television in the waiting area. In addition, the bank employees donated volunteer hours and repainted the waiting area along with the exterior ambulance bay. They also refurbished the landscaping around the entrance to the ER.
