Heart Awareness Month

February is Heart Awareness Month, and the first Friday of February is National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease to save lives.

Women are especially vulnerable to heart disease and stroke. Knowing your risk factors can help you prevent heart disease. Start by knowing your numbers, including blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, and blood sugar. Schedule a wellness exam with your healthcare provider to learn your numbers, this will let your provider determine your risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

If your provider wants you to have additional tests, asked to be referred to Bonner General Health. We offer multiple cardiac tests including CT scans, echocardiography, fluoroscopy, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasound, providing you quality, compassionate care close to home.

The American Heart Association created a health assessment tool to help you take actions and form habits to move toward ideal heart health. Click HERE to go to the "My Life Check" tool.
