Adult Exercise Program Print E-mail

The Adult Exercise Program at Bonner General Hospital is a wellness program designed for anyone who may benefit from regular supervised exercise in a safe environment.  Our goal is to help you improve your overall level of physical activity by increasing your strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.  Regular exercise can prevent physical decline as we age and can reverse common problems associated with aging.  The program is ideal for those with:

  • osteoporosis
  • arthritis
  • diabetes
  • high blood pressure
  • cancer
  • other physical challenges or health concerns

The program begins with an assessment of your health needs by a registered nurse, so that we can develop an exercise regimen appropriate for your individual needs.  Each exercise class is supervised by staff specially-trained in exercise management and heart and bone health.  Your blood pressure and pulse will be monitored.  Classes include a combination of weight bearing aerobic exercise, strength training, balance exercises and stretching.  In addition, we offer education to enhance your understanding of your particular medical condition, drawing on our professional staff of dieticians, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, and physicians as necessary.

Class Sessions and Fees

Classes are one hour each and are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  Participants pay a one-time fee of $25.00 for an initial health assessment, plus $6.00 per class.   A physician's order is not required for this program.  We recommend, however, that you talk with your healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program.
